Sewer Line Repair & Replacement In Encino
Cracked, broken, root-damaged and deteriorated sewer lines require the right diagnosis before the repair begins. Jon uses sewer camera inspection and jobsite conditions to determine the location and extent of the problem, then recommends the most practical repair or replacement option for the property.
Serving Encino and the San Fernando Valley since 2004.

Common Sewer Line Problems
Sewer line problems can develop from roots, aging pipe, ground movement, failed joints and other conditions underground. A sewer camera inspection helps identify what is actually happening inside the line before deciding how it should be repaired.
1. Root Intrusion
Tree roots can enter through cracks or failed pipe joints, restricting flow and contributing to further sewer line damage.
2. Cracked Or Broken Pipe
Cracks and breaks can allow soil or roots into the sewer line and may eventually lead to backups or failure.
3. Offset Pipe Joints
Sections of pipe can shift out of alignment, creating restrictions and areas where waste or debris can collect.
4. Deteriorated Sewer Pipe
Older sewer materials can weaken, corrode or deteriorate over time and may eventually require repair or replacement.
5. Sewer Line Bellies
A low section of sewer pipe can hold water and waste instead of maintaining proper drainage through the line.
6. Collapsed Sewer Line
A severely damaged section can partially or completely collapse, preventing normal flow and often requiring replacement.
How Jon Determines What Your Sewer Line Needs
Camera Inspection

Jon inspects the sewer line to identify the condition of the pipe and locate visible damage or restrictions.
Locate Faliure

The location and extent of cracks, roots, offsets, deterioration or collapse are identified before recommending work.
Evaluate Options

Jon considers the condition of the remaining pipe, access, and whether a localized repair, conventional replacement or trenchless approach makes sense.
Recommend Fix

The goal is to correct the sewer problem properly without replacing more pipe or excavating more property than the job requires.
Sewer Line Repair & Replacement Options
Once the problem has been located, the right repair depends on how much of the sewer line is damaged, the condition of the surrounding pipe and access to the affected area. Different sewer problems call for different solutions.
1 - Localized Sewer Repair

When damage is limited to a specific section and the surrounding pipe is still serviceable, the affected area may be repaired without replacing the entire sewer line.
2 - Conventional Sewer Replacement

Traditional excavation may be the practical choice when the damaged pipe is easily accessible or site conditions make trenchless methods unsuitable.
3 - Pipe Bursting

When a larger section needs replacement, pipe bursting may allow a new sewer line to be installed with significantly less excavation than conventional replacement.
4 - CIPP Epoxy Sewer Lining

When the existing pipe is suitable for rehabilitation, CIPP lining can create a new structural liner inside the existing sewer without excavating the full length of the line.
Jon determines which option fits the actual condition of the sewer line rather than assuming one repair method is right for every property.
Real Sewer Line Repair Work
A camera inspection can identify the problem, but jobsite conditions determine how the repair is actually completed. These are examples of sewer problems and repair work Jon encounters in the field.
Damaged Sewer Pipe

Cracks, roots, failed joints or deteriorated pipe can reveal why a sewer line has been backing up or failing.
Access & Repair

Once the damaged area is located, access is established based on the pipe location, property conditions and repair method being used.
Repaired/Replaced Line

After the repair or replacement is completed, the sewer line is checked to confirm proper flow and the condition of the completed work.
